Active duty, Reserve, and National Guard of all branches and armed-forces academy cadets; Public Health Service and NOAA commissioned corps; retirees including gray-area Reserve and Guard; specified veterans including Medal of Honor recipients and VHIC holders under the Disabled Veterans Equal Access categories (Purple Heart, former POW, service-connected disability, and primary family caregivers); un-remarried surviving and former spouses as listed on the KMC eligibility page; current and retired DoD and Coast Guard civilians; Department of the Interior staff working in the park and listed park-partner employees; and sponsored guests. Valid military or DoD ID is required at check-in. Food, beverage, and recreation are space-available for paying Hawaii Volcanoes National Park visitors.
